HWelcome to the new mk hotel munich

a house of the Schlossparkhotel Mariakirchen

The Einsteinstraße was once a part of the historical Salzstraße and before the Second World War it was called “Äußere Wiener Straße”. The Unionsbräu was located in no. 42; it was acquired in 1942 by Joseph Schülein. At that time the building which now is the new mk hotel was used as the stables for the brewery-horses.

The Max Weber place is located only a few metres away. In 1905 the place was not named after the famous sociologist, but after a civil servant of the municipality Haidhausen and after 1854 of the town Munich. The “Haidhauser Stachus“ was and is still an important crossroad especially since the “Maximilianstraße” and the bridge (with the same name) were built. King Maximilian II wanted to connect the incorporated suburbs right of the “Isar” with “his axis”. The Maximilianeum from Friedrich Bürklein was at first only an institute for talented people of the Bavarian state; but since 1949 it is also the location for the Bavarian federal state parliament.
